The ESRC STEPS Centre invites applications for its 2019 Summer School, which will take place from 13-24 May in the UK.
Applications are invited from highly-motivated doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working in fields around development studies, science and technology studies, innovation and policy studies, and interested in transdisciplinary methods and the politics of the environment.
The Summer School is a two-week immersive course on theories and practical approaches to sustainability, through creative, interactive and participatory learning.
Participants will explore the theme of pathways to sustainability through a mixture of workshops, lectures, outdoor events and focused interaction with STEPS Centre members. The Summer School takes place on the University of Sussex campus, near Brighton, UK.

I am Abubakar Chika Shagari I have been tracking the summer school since 2016 every year I applied but unfortunately I have always missed even last year I got a reply of unsuccessful chance. I thought this year I will make it waiting until March 2019 the usual time to apply, only to discover that the apps date has been shifted back to January and already closed. How can I be successful to attend Oxf Summer School as a PhD candidate Majoring on poverty reduction in NW Nigeria.
Thanks for your interest in the Summer School. The usual deadline is January, and we announce the following year’s application process in October. The best way to be reminded when the application process opens, is to subscribe to our newsletter: https://steps-centre.org/newsletters/
