BEAM Exchange is investing in a significant research programme to develop new knowledge that is authoritative and accessible around critical questions about market systems approaches.
A call for proposals has been issued for phase two of the research programme. BEAM is seeking research that builds stronger bridges between theory and practice.
Proposals are sought that:
- are strongly grounded in existing systems, development or economic theory, which can
- link the theory to practical experience in ways that are relevant for practitioners, demonstrating what the theoretical insights mean for practice, and
- complement the theory with empirical evidence or practical learning.
The following topics have been identified as areas where research of this nature would fill knowledge gaps:
-
Effective application of market systems approaches
-
Systems approaches to the economic empowerment of marginalised groups.
