BEAM Exchange Research: Call for proposals

BEAM Exchange is investing in a significant research programme to develop new knowledge that is authoritative and accessible around critical questions about market systems approaches.

A call for proposals has been issued for phase two of the research programme. BEAM is seeking research that builds stronger bridges between theory and practice.

Proposals are sought that:

  1. are strongly grounded in existing systems, development or economic theory, which can
  2. link the theory to practical experience in ways that are relevant for practitioners, demonstrating what the theoretical insights mean for practice, and
  3. complement the theory with empirical evidence or practical learning.

The following topics have been identified as areas where research of this nature would fill knowledge gaps:

  •  Effective application of market systems approaches
  •  Systems approaches to the economic empowerment of marginalised groups.

Read more about the themes in the research request document.
