STEPS AT PLANET UNDER PRESSURE

The STEPS Centre is taking part in a variety of activities at the Planet Under Pressure conference in London next month, from March 26-29. The event promises to “focus the scientific community’s and the wider world’s attention on climate, ecological degradation, human well-being, planetary thresholds, food security, energy, governance across scales and poverty alleviation”.

We are convening a key session, chaired by Melissa Leach and convened by Adrian Ely, entitled Pathways to Sustainability: opening up diverse technological futures in the green economy. We are delighted that Lawrence Gudza (Practical Action, South Africa) and Dinesh Abrol (National Institute for Science, Technology and Development Studies, India) are among those taking part. The session will be held on Day 2 of the conference at 10.30am in Room 1.

Adrian Ely is also presenting in a session entitled Governance of Emerging Technologies in the Context of Sustainable Development, on Wednesday 28 March, 4pm, Room 4.

We will also have a stand in the exhibition area, where will be launching our Pathways to Sustainability book series. If you are going to be at the event, please do come and say hello.

More plans for the event are afoot, so keep up-to-date here on the blog and via Twitter @stepscentre.
